Band Bookings
We are open to booking a variety of genres, however the bands that will work best with this event are ones that fall into the Goth, Industrial, Dark Alternative, EBM, Electroclash, and Future Pop genres and that compliment our event theme.
Bands, we ask that you send us a promo package to the following address, Black Oaks Savannah, PO Box 5225, Savannah Georgia 31414, in order to be considered for booking and to help us promote your band before your show. When emailing us, we request that you provide us with a bio, high-resolution press photos, a logo in print format such as a pdf or eps, sample mp3s or links to high quality digital tracks, your contract rider containing technical and hospitality requests, and any additional information that may be helpful in our decision to book you. If you are unprofessional in contacting us for booking, you will not be booked irregardless of how famous your band thinks they are.
Guest DJs
Black Oaks Savannah loves to feature guest DJs from time-to-time. Please contact us for more details. You will need to provide your own DJ equipment. Please provide us with a bio, high-resolution press photos, and a logo in print format such as a pdf or eps so we can promote you.
Performers
Interested in performing at Black Oaks? Please contact us with details about your performance. Black Oaks Savannah has booked additional performers such as: belly dancers, burlesque, fetish acts, hoopers, fire spinners, and more!
Pyrotechnics, flames, sparks, or fire shows are not allowed unless approved by the venue. Black Oaks will need to purchase a fire permit through the Fire Marshall. Please provide us with a bio, high-resolution press photos, and a logo in print format such as a pdf or eps so we can promote you.
Fetish Acts
Black Oaks Savannah sponsors a monthly fetish night. Please visit savannahfetishnight.com for booking info. Occasionally, Black Oaks Savannah will seek out a particular fetish act depending on the event theme.
Black Oaks Savannah Hospitality
Food
For all of our touring and one-off out-of-town performers, Black Oaks Savannah will not feed you pizza, but instead we provide a deli spread, which is suitable for carnivores and vegans. You won’t walk away hungry as it will be enough to satisfy any starving musician, dancing bears, wild boars and performers. A deli spread typically consists of the following: fresh in-season fruit and vegetable trays served with complimenting dipping sauces, deli sub-style sandwiches with an assortment of spread condiments, pasta and/or potato salads, hummus and pita, cheese and crackers, and an assortment of desserts. This spread will be available during sound check, served in the lounge /dressing area and will be kept chilled throughout the night.
Water
Chilled water will be provided for all stage performers.
Bar Tabs
Unless you have included a request for alcohol in your contract riders, Black Oaks Savannah will not provide a bar tab. There will be no exceptions. If you run up a bar tab without a prior agreement and ditch us to pay your tab, you will not be invited back to perform at our event. Ever. The venue may have a discount for bands who have not already negotiated an agreement with Black Oaks Savannah, please check with the venue owner. We also do not tolerate drunken shit-faced performers and we will not baby-sit your drunk ass, instead we will write on you with permanent markers if you pass out and take incriminating photos and send them to all our friends. Please handle your alcohol responsibly.
Hotels
If you are traveling to our venue from a location that is more than 350 miles one way, we will provide a hotel or crash space for your band, if requested. Please do not assume we will provide this luxury, if we have not negotiated this beforehand or it is not requested in your contract riders. Please also keep in mind, that during tourist season or holidays, we may not be able to provide you with accommodations that are in the immediate downtown area. If that is the case we will provide you with accommodations that are closest to your traveling interstate with no more travel time than 20-30 minutes from the venue.
Additional Expenses
We are not responsible for your additional show expenses such as fuel, makeup, clothing expenses, etc, please factor that into your contract. Do not expect us to hand us receipts day-of-show and expect us to cover your show expense costs. We are not responsible for significant others or friends you’ve brought along.
Sound and Stage Details
Black Oaks Savannah staffs a competent sound engineer for all of our events. Load-in times are one hour and half before doors open and a half hour before sound check. Sound check begins one hour before doors open, with headlining act to sound check first. For example if the doors open at 8pm, sound check will be at 7pm and load-in will be at 6:30 pm. If you need more time, please let us know in your contract negotiations. We ask that you cooperate with the sound engineer.
For stage show changes, bands will have 30 minutes between each act to clear stage and setup. Stage times generally begin at 10pm. Set times are generally a half-hour to 45 minutes for opening acts and 45 minutes to one hour for headliners. If you would like more time, let us know before you go on stage.
We request that you submit your technical rider, when providing us with your contract before we finalize negotiations, so that arrangements can be made to provide additional equipment or sound needs. For venue technical information please click here.
Guests
Black Oaks Savannah staffs offers bands a guest list. Please remember that you are being paid from what we make on the door and if you load up the guest list that takes away from money we could be making to pay you. Besides your friends should be supportive and more than willing to pay a door charge. Please provide us with a guest list before the doors open— better yet, provide us those details in your contract.
Underage Performers
Black Oaks Savannah will card all performers, please have your id with you. If you are underage you will be wrist-banded or stamped as such and are required to be working at all times (not just hanging out to get in to see your friends play). If you are an underage performer and are caught consuming alcohol we will ask you to leave. There will be no exceptions.
Promoting
Black Oaks Savannah will promote all shows no less than 3 weeks before date of event. We handle all of the promoting for our shows. Please provide us with a bio, high-resolution press photos, and a logo in print format such as a pdf or eps so we can promote you.
